ASHLEY-KRESGE DINING HALL

The Camp Potomac Woods dining hall was first built in 1948, and was originally called Ashley Hall in honor of Mr. E. Evert “Jack” Ashley and Mrs. Ruth Ashley for their leadership in the development of Camp Potomac Woods. Mr. Ashley was the first GSCNC (interm) President.  The 1948 kitchen was rebuilt in 1954.

The Ashley Dining Hall was originally a large, open-air, screened pavilion.  The dining hall was rebuilt, enclosed and winterized in 1995 with a grant from the Kresge Foundation.

A plaque on the fireplace commemorates the rededication of the building in May, 1995 as the Kresge Multi-Purpose Building.
